"Curiouser and curiouser" ... Lewis Carroll

Wizards do not grieve over loss, because the only thing that can be lost is the unreal.
Lose everything, and the real will still remain.
In the rubble of devastation and disaster are buried hidden treasures.
When you look in the ashes, look well.
from the Indian mystic Dee Chopra
I awoke from a slumber in human time, the above passage came to me as I was contemplating a loss of someone near to me. The greenery out of my window told me it was a different time than I had imagined. This was solstice time and I had to find my path. I had much to do, now that the way was clear again.
I reached into my pocket and found my precious Amethyst & Opal, they would not be lost to me. I took them out by the flaming tree and gave gifts in gratitude. Their laughter and joyment pleased me dearly, time to take a little journey I whispered.
The trail was laid and we journeyed to the place of Jaune, the old artist, whose visions she laid on paper for us to journey in. We arrived mid-day to the scent of roast bird and food for the feast. Opal’s eyes were filled with glee as she stared at all the bright lights, bubbles and shades of colours that adorned Jaune’s abode.
I laid my cloak across a chair, and tried to catch the fleeting Robin, whose whirl of flight & fancy was a wonderment to watch. The non-stop chatter and swooping at food, made the Amethyst giggle and stare. The Robin asked me if I would like to visit with the wise old Frederick, now spending most of his time in another world. His body was here, but he ventured to far-off worlds with his soul. His never ending search for the perfect world. Ah the love of life.
We arrived to see Frederick, resting in his chair. His eyes closed, hands holding tight the arms, as he walked greener paths. The depths of his soul ventures to many places that we can only imagine. For a moment, I saw him return. He looked around, nodded to show us he was here. A few wise words he uttered, as we asked our questions. I felt the warmth of his thoughts, as they rang in my ears. I said thanks and departed.
We travelled back to Jaune’s for the feast would commence. I felt distant for a while, absorbing the thoughts of Frederick and not paying attention to womanly banter between Jaune & the Robin as their discussion of food is always a bit dry. The young ones played with their food, laughed and talked of childish things. I enjoyed so much their cajoling, the way of their innocence is true to the heart.
I bid farewell after the feast and returned for some rest, for the quest begins anew.
