The Last Supper

DaVinci’s ‘The Last Supper’

I was just wondering how your Christmas meal and conversation went. I remember our last supper with Judith’s parents at the house she & her brothers grew up in. It was the last Christmas meal there and we had 21 people at the table. The problem with last suppers is that they can turn into these weird banter, rhetoric, conversation affairs.

Christmas dinner and two of Judith’s brothers started talking about the ‘Gun Registry’, and her father, a lifetime member of the Liberal party, always loved to talk politics. So that was the discussion for the whole meal.

Now, what will probably be the last Christmas meal at the house my sister & I grew up in, turned into a discussion on food. My mother & sister are both only eating raw food. The kids ate just turkey, potatoes & gravy. So besides everything being excellent, even the stuffing with a bit of sage for Jim, got to keep those Ontarioites happy, the main topic was food. How good the raw cranberry sauce / mousse tasted, how come you kids aren’t eating any veggies, do you want to taste this, oh come on now just one bite, oouu, who put this fat on the turkey and so on and so on.

All in all it was a great time though, no politics, religion (Thanks Kaiya for saying grace) or weather. So what did you talk about at your Christmas meal?
