"The instinct of nearly all societies is to lock up anybody who is truly free. First, society begins by trying to beat you up. If this fails, they try to poison you. If this fails too, they finish by loading honours on your head" ... Jean Cocteau
This Year's Recipe
Since the spring equinox was yesterday and I forgot to post anything, I thought this little recipe for the next year would be fun.

Take 12 fine full-grown months; see that these are thoroughly free from all old memories of bitterness, rancour, hate and jealousy. Cleanse them completely from every clinging spite; pick off all specks of pettiness. Cut each month into 30 or 31 equal parts. Do not attempt to make up the whole bunch at one time.
Prepare one day at a time as follows; Into each day put equal parts of faith, patience, courage, work, hope, fidelity, liberality, kindness, rest, prayer, meditation; add about 1 teaspoonful of good spirits, a dash of fun, a pinch of folly, a sprinkling of play, and a heaping cupful of good humour. Pour love into the whole and mix with vim.
Serve with quietness, unselfishness and cheerfulness.
